I became interested in personal finance after seeing how little high school prepares its students for life outside of academics; the importance of compounding interest seems to take a backseat to memorizing John Locke’s birthday (August 29th, 1632).
I’ve been married to my lovely wife, Nikolle, for the past 2 ½ years and together we live in Ashburn, VA. We went to rival high schools but met in college (JMU, go Dukes!), where she studied theater and communication, and I was a chemistry major. I was lucky enough to live in the same dorm building as her, and we’ve been on many adventures together ever since. We’ve been together over 8 years, and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us!
2020 included the first addition to our family; we rescued a 3-year old bulloxer (bulldog/boxer mix) named “Minnie-Moo”; her rough background reminded me of Cab Calloway’s song “Minnie the Moocher”, plus her coat makes her look like a mini cow…
When I’m not working, you can find me either in my woodshop (making pens / furniture) or out in the woods (camping, hiking, or fishing). I also love movies, TV, and video games!
