After graduating with a Finance degree, I spent a brief stint in the finance industry. Pushy product sales and putting commissions over clients' needs were common practice. The industry had it backward. I believe the client's best interest comes first. However, my curiosity about investing remained, and the 2008 financial crisis pulled me back in.
First, I became a finance writer. Since 2010, I've written about the intersection of markets, psychology, and investing. My goal is to take the complexity out of investing and make it understandable for everyone.
Second, I became a CFP® professional in 2022. I wanted to take everything I learned and wrote about for over a decade and help others on a more personal level.
My investment philosophy can be summed up like this:
Simple, common-sense strategies are better than complex ones
Designed to survive, and take advantage of, short-term market surprises
Built around your goals to help you stay the course
As an advisor, I help clients build wealth and secure their financial future by putting that philosophy into practice through investment management, retirement planning, and financial planning.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, rooting for Da Bears and Fighting Irish, and experiencing what my hometown of Chicago has to offer.
