get personal.
when we bring our best energy into our craft, the brand itself takes on that energy.
Let’s have fun, share your excitement.
Develop your voice and brand.
Be yourself.
When we think about a Personal Brand, the most important thing we must consider is how the client interacts with us. We can let our personal voice shine, but we must present it in such a way that wouldn’t cause confusion for prospects or clients.
It’s important that we’re clear as to which entity is the registered firm so that prospects and clients have the ability to perform due diligence on the firm and its members.
This will be accomplished through transparent conversation and disclosure.
Important considerations:
Revenue earned through advisory services must be paid to the advisor personally as an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) and cannot be paid to an outside LLC.
The title or naming of a personal brand shouldn’t in any way deceive a prospect or client as being a separately Registered Investment firm.
Social profiles such as LinkedIn may reflect your personal brand, but you should also list Core Planning so that prospects and clients can perform proper due diligence and understand your relationship with Core Planning.
You are free to choose a domain host. Personally, we love and recommend Squarespace as its SEO tools are pretty simple to master. As well, the more of us using the same platform, the better we’ll be able to help each other with advice, tips, and troubleshooting.
The footer of each landing page must include the verbiage: advisory services offered through Core Planning LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor.
The footer of each landing page should include a link to our web disclosures: https://www.corepln.com/disclosures
The footer of each blog post should also include a link to our web disclosures: https://www.corepln.com/disclosures
Each of us must maintain an email address within the @corepln.com domain which serves as an access point of many core systems. Of course, you’re free and encouraged to use the @corepln.com Outlook system for client communication.
If for some reason an advisor wishes to use a custom email domain, all TO and FROM emails should be auto forwarded and archived within the @corepln.com Outlook system.
The email signature / footer must also contain the same disclosures as above.
Your personal domain should have a link back to your Core Planning profile page, and likewise, we’ll make sure your core planning profile page links to your personal domain.
Intake and planning materials:
The Investment Advisory Agreement, digital intake forms, Privacy Policy and Welcome Email with our ADV brochures must come from Core Planning.
Printed materials or financial planning handouts may reflect your personal brand and color scheme but must also reference Core Planning in the same manner as the web landing page described above.
While the above sounds like a lot, it’s pretty simple to accomplish, and we’re all here to help.
Let’s have fun with this!
Please also be patient and understanding that the above may change as we learn and grow.
Securities laws and regulations change periodically, and we’ll get guidance and feedback from securities examiners. We must do this in a compliant and transparent manner and will all need to be flexible and understanding.
All that matters is that we deliver an amazing outcome for the families we serve.
Afterall, that’s why we’re here.
